Mushroom is good for health. Eating mushroom can reduce salt intake, naturally have Vitamin D and can reduce the risk of some cancer. These are the other advantages..

I like the fact that mushrooms can be consumed at every meal, low enough in calories for a guilt-free. You don’t have to be a mushroom fanatic or vegetarian.

In any Jogjakarta trip, I regularly pay a visit to Resto jeJamuran (Everything Mushroom Restaurant), situated at Niron, Pandowoharjo, Sleman. A very popular restaurant. During lunch it is normally full, we have to make a reservation, first.

The interesting part of the restaurant, we can see enormous mushrooms exhibition in some area. Just take a good look at the variety of mushrooms available…

The only mushrooms I am familiar with are oyster, white button, and shiitake. They are easiest mushrooms to grow, even at home, they said.

Ling Zhi or Reishi Mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is known to have many health benefits and very popular in traditional Chinese medicine.

Some of the mushrooms are traditionally grown on hardwood logs. Mushrooms grow outside in prepared logs takes longer process, about six months. The good environments for growing mushrooms are normally dark, cool, moist, and humid, because they don’t develop through photosynthesis.

At jeJamuran, mushrooms are served in Indonesian dishes. For me it was a fast service with reasonable price. They were also surprisingly delicious! Mushrooms Satay with Peanuts Sauce was one of my favorite. It taste like chicken satay ; meaty, juicy, and chewy. Mushroom is well known as a good replacement for meat.

The foods they got on the menu were : Stir Mushrooms, Sweet and Sour Portabella Muhsroom Sauce, Mushrooms Soup, Portabella Mushrooms Satay with Peanut Sauce, Fu Yung Hai Mushroom, Crispy Oyster/Shiitake/Portabella Mushrooms, Sweet Soy Sauce Mushroom Stew, Mushroom fried Rice,etc.

Drinks : Mushroom Jamu, Sarsaparilla soft drink, etc.

You can also buy canned crispy mushrooms products for gifts.
